My "new" 5x7 Kodak 2D arrived yesterday, and it is a beauty. I'm impressed with the quality of the engineering and construction.
Everything seems to fit and work perfectly with the exception of the geared rise/fall which is very loose, and it seems to be the only movement on the camera which has no means of locking it solidly in position. There does not appear to be access to the gear track to apply stiffer grease.
I'm looking for suggestions about tightening it.
Thanks,
Wilhelm

Have you tried pulling out on the adjustment knob? Works on mine.

Thanks, Michael. It works on mine, too. D'oh! Just like my Graphic View -- don't know why it didn't occur to me.

Yeah, the knob is a push/pull to lock or operate. Better than the ones that have a separate lock on the other side....

I had mine for six months or so before I realized it works that way.
