hi everyone. I have a graflex case, vulcanite with tin corners, that has been painted black and rust. the first is recently, the rust has been developing over time. I'd like to get it looking as nice as my camera does now, which is close to looking new.
the big question, is what colour wasn it? i see them every colour from fawn to black to grey and green. anyone really know?
maybe someone can help.

I have 2 one I keep my Linhof IV in it is brown, naturale, no paint. The other I keep my hot lights in, it is grey again no paint. I have also seen military issue ones that were green. If they haven't gotten too wet they are great cases.

Not sure what colors they possibly came in, but mine is grey...
I have two, both are a slate grey, but the corners guards are different. One has Black, one has a more Galvanized steel look.

Ansel Adams eventually painted his carying cases WHITE after measuring their temperatures inside when they sat in the sun for even a few minutes.

Mine is gray with a heavy overlayment of dirt, grime, and shipping labels.
Mine is olive-drab color with black metal corners and hardware. Inside was a red velour panel that held filters in with snap buttons. There is also what looks like a brass tripod screw socket on the inside of the top. No idea what that's for. It came with a late 30's looking speed graphic with a CZJ lens/dial set shutter.

... looks like i'm headed to lowes tonight and buying some gloss white oven paint... I was wondering this the other day when i saw the top of a UPS truck outside of our office. Huge brown truck, bleach white roof. Got me thinking what i could do for my camera cases to accomplish the same effect. Is it going to far to hook up a tiny 9v Solar panel to the top and hack an old computer fan into the lid of the case as well? lol...

place to store your tripod head maybe?
