I bought a epson 4990 I am having a hard time getting the slides to be in focus when I scan . Is this a problem for all the scanners. i have scanned other things in different scanners with not these type of problems a little help please I have looked for back info but no help maybe just not far enough thanx Craig ps yes I checked to make sure there in focus on the slides tack sharp in fact thanx

I have a V700 and it took a while to find focus. You can experiment with different heights on you holders using coins or something similar. A few rounds of scans should help you find optimum focus for your scanner.
