Hi all, I wanted to put in a plug for a workshop I'll be teaching through Luz Gallery here in Victoria BC this summer. The date is the weekend of July 10/11 2010, and while not specifically centred on large format, I'll be spending time showing how I work with LF cameras and my old petzval lenses to shoot many of my nudes.

More information can be found on the workshops page at the Luz Gallery website.

Thanks!

Those getting to work with you will be lucky. Wish is wasn't so far from North Carolina! Your work is outstanding.

Thanks Gary and Monty! So far we still need a few more people to guarantee it will run. Keeping my fingers crossed!

I'd love to take a workshop from you, Dave - your work is excellent. But for this workshop, I can just imagine how the conversation with my wife would go...
"Honey, I signed up for a photo workshop..." "Great, I can't wait to see what you came up with when you get back!"

Seriously though, if you ever do a LF landscape or seascape specific workshop in the Victoria, BC area, I'm in.

Nudes bore me.

Now take an exotic woman, dressed in a period outfit, and photograph her in a beautiful outdoor setting (landscape), and then you've got something. BG

Good luck with the workshop Dave, hope you fill it up.

I will be out there at that time with my wife cruising the Gulf Islands, unfortunately I know she would not find the humor in me using up 2 days of our hollidays to photograph naked chicks.....she's kinda weird that way.

I'm with Adam, a Vancouver Island, Gulf Islands landscape/seascape workshop is a great idea.

I'm sure this will be a great workshop, eh? Dave's a great guy and for a hoser does damn good work. :-) I think he handles the nude in the landscape better than just about anyone (stop giggling, children). Often that kind of work looks forced and unnatural to me. Not so in his case, eh? If it was a little closer, I'd be there with my wet plate rig. Considering the distance and the gas mileage I get, this workshop would cost roughly 3 million dollars. :-)

LOL. Agreed.

Get Aria Giovanni, and I'm there!
