Hi all. I'm a new bird here. I got a ACME shutter # 4 from my friend and we both don't know this shutter very much. Can anyone tell me where is the flash contact on this lens? Anywhere I can find a user manual for it? Thanks.

The 2 pins sticking out the side will give you a closure for flash. You'll need to build an adapter that plugs onto those and goes to a modern type sync socket. Also the small lever at the side had some settings for different flash bulbs. For electronic flash it should be left on "X".

Just don't forget to cock the shutter, and also cock the flash synch!

Thank you very much, Brain and Jim. How can I cock the flash synch?

Paramount Cords makes Bi-post sync cords and adapters to use PC cords. Google 'em!

I hope I did not mis-speak.

On my ACME, which looks just like yours, the smaller lever on the side (blue arrow in your pic) is a cocking lever for the synch. It cocks just like the shutter cocking lever. For selecting the synch delay there is a small selector on the case near that lever. The small selector on mine has M (both red and black) and X selections.

Thank you again, Brain. After viewing the link that shown the ILEX shutter; I 'm fully understood the procedure of cocking shuter and the flash sync.
