I have a Pentax digital spotmeter, that has red EV led readout in the viewfinder. Anyway, a few years back I was using it and all the sudden the thing went crazy. In the readout it would either read 0 on any given tone, or it would continuously cycle through the whole set of EV numbers 1-20?? (cant remember the highest) when the trigger is pressed. I used to use this for LF work, would like to get it fixed. Do know its not the battery as I changed it.

Has anyone with this unit had a similar occurence?

Do you recommend a repair place that is reasonable in price?

Many thanks!

I believe Richard Ritter repairs/recalibarates these meters.

Richard Ritter fixed mine a few years back - one dead leg on a readout digit. He replaced it. It was a Zone VI modified one I bought in the '80s...He was the fellow that signed the original calibration document that came with it.

I'm still using it.

He's at http://www.lg4mat.net/

Try Quality Light Metrics
7095 Hollywood Blvd Ste 550
Los Angeles, CA 90028
Tel: (323) 467 2265

They repair and calibrate meters for the film industry, which uses a lot of Pentax spot meters.

If you have a Zone VI modified meter, however, send it to Richard Ritter

Yes I have seem this, main board is bad. Your meter would needs new parts. It would be the old body with new up to date insides.
