I took my Bogen 150XPROB tripod with me to the OBX last year on a family vacation, and someone ended up picking it up as we unloaded the car; it got sand in the joints/etc, so my uncle-in-law took it apart and cleaned out the debris with water.

It works ok, although some of the hinges for locking the legs in place are very stiff and don't close all the way (although they still secure the legs).

Any recommendations for how to fix? Take apart and lubricate? I'm in Rochester, NY; if anyone knows of a place that could do local repair, that'd be great.

Bogen imaging is in New Jersey & are very good.
Myself, I'd take it apart, clean it & be hesitant about lube. They probably use just a touch in the latches.
I sounds like there are mis-installed springs in the latches. Sometimes even just flipped over. Take one apart & take a look if you manipulate things a little it's possible to re-assemble properly.
