I recently picked up a Nikkor W 100mm f5.6 to use on my 6x9 Technika and have not been able to find any info on this lens. I have information on the W 105mm version which has 155mm of image circle but can't find any information regarding this lens either on the web or in nikons literature. I shot some film with it today and found it to be very sharp and covers 6x9 with plenty of movements. It's in a black copal #0 and takes a 40.5 filter and is a tiny lens. Anyone know anything about this and why Nikon had a 100 and a 105 W?

Thanks!

Don

I have some info in an older Nikon brochure. I can make you a scan if you send me your email info. They show an image size of 153mm at f22. No idea why they changed to the 105mm.

For those interested the 100mm W has 74 degrees of coverage at f22 with a 153mm image circle. Nikon says it will just cover 4x5 at f22. Weight is 6 ounces.

Interesting they discontinued the super compact 100 for a larger 105 with a gain of 2mm of image circle.

Either lens would be excellent with 6x12 format.

Thanks for the info Chuck.
