View Full Version : Lensboard for Fotar 10x10 vetical enlarger
I'm in the process of setting up a fotar 10x10 vertical enlarger, but it didn't come with a lensboard. From what I can tell, it seems to use a lensboard system similar to the durst vapla's. There are two cone shaped nuts and an upward angled screw arranged in a triangle.
Does anyone know if I could use a durst lensboard for the fotar enlarger?
Thanks,
Bryan

Hi,
The Durst Vapla is almost exactly 8 inches in diameter. Can you post a picture of your front standard?
Vaplas can sometimes be expensive, so looking for a Fotar might be the way to go.
I'm a Durst owner, not a Fotar owner, so maybe a Fotar owner will chime in here with some more useful information.

If you do a google on 'Fotar' you should find a site meant to support the owners, run by the founder of the company, Robert Hall. I printed on a 10x10 vertical Fotar for 20 years, but never on a Durst, so I can't answer your lensboard question. The edge of the Fotar board is beveled to fit behind the cone-shaped retainers and receive the locking screw- simple and effective, just like the rest of the machine.
