this is the coolest portrait camera i have ever played with. it has hand controls for the front tilt and front swing...all from the rear of the camera. what a sweet set up this is!

Eddie,

Congrats on your P8 an the Knucklers - and welcome to the club. To get the full use of your BIG lenses from the 27" bellows, you may want to find one of the handy GG extenders too... ;-)

Eddie,

What you see in my picture is how the first series of P8's are built - it has a built-in 5"-opening Packard fixed on the backside of the front standard. My other P8 is just like yours and the Packard is built into the back of the removable 11x11 box, which allows deeper lenses to fit as well.

The other visible difference is the finish of the standard braces - the earlier ones are finished in gray hammertone like the stand and the later ones are in wrinkle finish.

Wow! Those are awesome.

How do these old brass lenses work? They don't look like they have a shutter. (noob)

The stand looks very industrial. You have a nice Cooke collection there. What's the FL of the black one?
