I'm relatively new to LF. I've had this camera (see photo) sitting around in a case since last summer and have no idea what kind it is. I'd love to learn more about it.

Thanks!

Toyo View Deluxe.

A similar camera was discussed recently in APUG (http://www.apug.org/forums/forum44/23737-can-someone-id-toyo-view-deluxe-camera.html).

And the manufacturer's page (http://www.toyoview.com/Products/VX125/VX125.html).

/facepalm

And who's buried in Grant's Tomb?

Not sure why I assumed the lensboard was different than the camera. Good to see others found info. Thanks for the fast response and the great links.

I've had one of these for many years, bought used, and not used it a lot. I've never known the exact name or approximate time of manufacture so sat for hours looking for info. Never thinking it could be the same as the name on the lens board I finally found something- here. I'm looking to sell or trade for a field camera as this one is difficult to work with in the field.

It seems to me that a monorail would be easier to use, since there are more movements, and focusing can be done from the rear as well. If you find it difficult to pack/carry it, you might do well do get a 6" extension rail, which makes it not much larger than a folded field camera. I have one, so let me know if you'd like to buy it.
