Printing 8x10 with an Omega d2

Would it be possible to print 8x10 negs on an Omega D2 chassis, with any head? I currently have an Ilford 500 head and would love to be able to enlarge 8x10's. Just curious, thanks.

there was a guy on ebay (from florida) selling a homemade 8x10 step-up head that used cfl's as far as I know a year or so ago for a few hundred bucks. that's the only head I know of that would fit. I don't think he is selling them now though.

By the time you got all the extra stuff loaded on top I doubt it would hold the weight
very well. Easier just to find a used 8x10 chassis.

I have never even heard of a 5x7 modification for the D series, let alone an 8x10 modification.

Is that Ilford head 10x10 inches? If so , I have seen Durst L184 chassis with no head go for about $250 or less on ebay recently.

Possibly liquidating our darkroom at Omega Satter at months end due to a move to our 80,000 sq ft....grand who ha! bigger location. If you want an inexpensive short column 8x10 chassis which would accomodate almost any version 8x10 Omega-head, I can get you inline for the auction by calling me at 800-777-6634 x 3015 or email me at gblank@omegasatter.com. Minimum buy in at $500.00 - you just need to have a pick up to remove it on the auction date "TBA".

You could also modify the chassis to accept a custom lamp house because of the wide negative stage. :)

There is also a Diffused light source which was an Omega prototype maybe three produced including one KHB photo had.... and I have one in my personal darkroom
it uses drop in 10x10 PC filters. It also uses standard halogen tubes commonly found at home depot ;)
