you can make one yourself by heating and folding a suitably sized peice of plexi or perspex in half - that's all most of the protectors are. or you can buy a canham one from f stops here

http://www.thefstop.com/equipment/new/kbc/kbc.html

check whith them or Canham which one will fit your camera. $25.00 or thereabouts.

It's pretty simple to make one for wood field cameras similar to the Wisner items if you have a few woodworking tools. I've made two that simply press fit next to the GG.

Whatever it takes, make one. Not that it would have saved mine but they are expensive. I set up my Sinar w/600mm lens in front of an idling truck with driver sitting behind the wheel the whole time. It was the only perspective I could use to shoot the approach to a bridge. Just as I was completing the conversion to long shooting with middle standard, extra long monorail, two bellows, and Sinar shutter for my Nikkor barrel, the truck driver decided he had to leave JUST THEN and put it in gear and honked. So happens his honk coincided with my replacing the 5x7 back after removing for safety while I fumbled around. I was startled and dropped the back, and the glass shattered. $100 later I'm back in business ($80 plus FedEx from PhotoCare in NYC, the only ones with one in stock, including Sinar Bron).
