Info on a 6.25x 8.25

I have a 6.25 x 8.25 camera called The National Camera does anyone know anything about this camera.

"National" was, and I think is, a tradename of the Matsushita Electric Trading Co.. Their other tradename "Panasonic" is probably familiar to you. I have only a very vague recollection of encountering a "National" camera, but Matsushita had very broad distribution of photo-related items, so adding a camera would have made sense. I doubt, however, that they made the camera themselves. They were probably distributing the product of a rather small workshop, rather similar to those producing many of our large format cameras today. Matsushita might still be able to tell you.

Possibly US-made. No mention of a National camera in Channing and Dunn.

I did the Google thing and found this:

It looks like it is an English Butcher "National" plate camera.

I had forgotten about the British camera of that name. GPS and Chauncey, you are very likely to be correct.
