Just got this in. What a beautiful camera. Will be great to take out into the field instead of my Toyo 45C or my Crown Graphic.

What lens in the copal #3? Can you actually focus that with that camera? The camera looks fantastic; a real beauty!!

That is a APO-Symmar 5.6/240 and I can focus to about 2 feet.

Sweet. I used one of those exclusively for about the first 10 years of my career for all my LF, personal and commercial.

I did the same as Kirk, I loved my Tachihara and regret having sold it. It is light, functional and beautiful, you will enjoy it.

I have this Tachi – and I appreciate its light weight whenever I hike-up nearby mountains.
And I have the same studio camera as you – a Toyo 45c. A chief reason I got the larger studio camera might not surprise other Tachi owners. It was because whenever I use the Tachi in my neighborhood, friendly people congregate around me to remark about its cherry-wood-black-bellows-shiny-knob beauty. And their remarks are just as distracting as they are flattering! I’m always apologizing to these curious well-wishers for our shortened conversations: “I beg your pardon, I need to concentrate on my work now…” By contrast, the 45c seems to scare people away – they watch me from a safe distance – and I can be more productive! ;)
Looking forward to seeing your Tachi shots…
