Hi, would this fit in the regular Deardorff springback? I had issues with the fuji pa45 holder as it was too thick. Thank you.

Ari, you can send me your Deardorff and I'll test it. :)

Seriously, if knowing the thickness of the Calumet holder would help, let me know and I'll dig mine out and measure it.

I owned the Calumet 6x7 roll film holder and used it in a Tachihara. It fit fine. I never owned a 4x5 Deardorff so I don't know for sure but I'd guess it will work o.k. You could measure the distance between the ground glass frame and the camera back when fully opened, then take HMG up on his offer, to find out for sure.

The Calumet RFholder is 24mm thick.

With this holder in some (I think they were B&J) wooden cameras I've had to trim back the "ears" on the business end of the ground-glass frame so it didn't hit the fat mechanism end section of the Calumet holder. That would be your main potential problem...it doesn't hurt the camera, but you may not want to trim wood off of a Deardorff; otherwise, its only 1mm thicker than a Graphmatic (23mm) and thinner than a polaroid 405 (28mm) and I'm sure a Deardorff would handle a Graphmatic. I also recall having to add a couple of shims under the springs to lessen the tension on a couple of wooden cameras to use backs like the Graphmatic, but, again, it didn't hurt any to do that and made the insertion of all holders easier. Geeeze...I find myself going back 40+ years with this comment! :(

My guess is it will not work. I have a Toyo that does not work and Grafmatic holders will not work either. I will try and remember but i don't think the Grafmatic is 24mm's thick.

Just checked and the Grafmatic is 23.5mm thick. Doesn't look like the Calumet back will work.
