I have a quick question about my Epson 4000. Moving the head aside, there are two ink pads. There's a larger one that's pretty obvious. In addition to the right (as one faces the front of the printer), there's a smaller one that's occupies about half the area.
On which of these does the printer park the head and ink nozzles when the printer is turned off?

The larger one is not the parking pad. It is called the "flushing box". This is where in inkjet fires during printing. What occasions that I don't know.
The one further to the right is the capping station attached to the vacuum pump for head cleaining - collectively know as "pump assembly"
Hope this helps.

Thanks. I gather the one to the right is the parking pad, where one can put a Windex soaked paper towel or cloth?

I thought you meant an actual place to rest your head while the printer prints! I know those epsons can take hours to make a print, not a bad idea to nap during a printing session. I could use one of those head resting pads in my darkroom.
