Hi

I'm looking for a good solid tripod for my 8x10 camera (Toyo MII) and have come across a new Manfrotto 528XB at a very good price. I'm doing landscapes but am not planning on hiking too far - probably no more than a few miles. Maximum lens focal length is currently 240mm. I believe the tripod weighs about 7kg and has a max weight load of 50kg. Has anyone any views or experiences with this tripod? Would it be better to pay twice the price for a Gitzo series 5?

Any thoughts or opinions would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
TZE

the manfrotto is stable for sure! BUT, it is not very convenient to walk with a 8kg. tripod...if you can, just try it out... i bought a gitzo http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/611071-REG/Gitzo_GT4330LS_GT4330LS_3_Section_Aluminum_Tripod.html#specifications two years ago. when you buy a gitzo it hurts once if you carry a 8kg. monter it hurts for years ;)
otherwise if the price is right (150$).... you could always sell it later.
