and today the first question about scanner repair............................ (first post richardreh)
In my country we say:" Esto huele mal". (google translation: This stinks.)
So are you saying that they posted the OP on MARCH 17th, then waited until today MAY 28th to introduce themselves?
I think that some people here are a little too cynical.

What are you trying to tell me?? not to use this forum? I had a broken color scanner I needed to repair. This forum and catagory seemed like a match. It is a large format digital piece of hardware. I was hoping to get tech. advise. I received, a commercial ( I assume)solicitation. Followed by pointless posts. that still are not addressing the problem. Anyway, I have finally fixed the scanner. This scanner is quite and interesting peice of hardware. It has two ccd cameras that have to be closely aligned.
or it wont calibrate. I got it close enough to alignment with a single thin line. Printed with my hp plotter. Then the calibration strip would work. The cpu did the fine tunning. It also needed a bulb.
My advise to anyone thinking of buying a used scanner- Make sure it has the calibration strip with it. They cost hundreds. The full size scan has a camera stiching problem in the middle. To fix this I need and alignment pattern. Alignment patterns are very specific and very expensive. If anyone has one, send me a message. THX
