I'm getting my darkroom functional again. As part of the process I have acquired the darkroom equipment from a local studio that has gone digital. Amongst the myriad of enlarging lenses (over a dozen of various focal lengths), the lot included a 135mm Wollensak Raptor, a 135 mm Vivitar and a 135 mm Rodenstock Ysaron. The Ysaron is the most intriguing as it is a Rodenstock but I have never heard of the Ysaron name. A web search has not provided much detail. Please note that I intend to do a lens comparision once the darkroom is functional.

Can anyone provide some light on the history of the Ysaron name and what I can expect in terms of quality. Comments about the Vivitar and Wollensak would also be appreciated.

Thanks
Charles

Charles, the Ysaron and the Ysar are triplet variations like the Tessar. The same construction later was renamed Rogonar-S.
