If you could buy only one more  lens, what would you pick (yes it is available)?

ONE more. No X or Y or one of A, B, C.

I still want a Fuji 600C.... just have to pony up the money.

None. I've accumulated a 90, 150, 240 and 400T (for 4x5). If I can't express myself with those I should sell all my gear and quit!

(I know this isn't the sort of response that you're looking for, but it's where I'm standing on the matter these days. :) )

The lens I'd like is not for LF format. A Leica Noctilux-M 50 mm f/0.95 ASPH.

If only to have a spare $10,500 kickin' around!

Saying, just one more lens, is like trying to have "one more potato chip", or "just one more cookie".
However, I would say a nice late model 80-90mm lens instead of my old timer Schneider 90 Angulon.

I have a 110-150-240 kit that takes care of about 96% of my diverse landscape needs.

My “one more lens” – you might naturally think – would be a “wider-than-110,” or “longer-than-240.”

Funny thing is, a 180 is what would get me close to 99%.

(I don’t need a 450mm Fujinon C, but I really, really want one.)

Either a 75mm with somewhat large aperture, or the Nikkor 300M. The first is wider than my current widest 90mm, though a lens I would likely rarely use. The 300M is a different realm, and something more likely that I might actually purchase.

My most used lens is a 135mm. Next most often used is a 180mm.

Ciao!

Something around 30 mm that will cover 4X5 with a bit of movement. :D

Since I have 65mm thru 240mm covered, I would like something in the 300 to 400mmT range for my Tachihara. Trouble is, I shoot mostly the 65mm or 90mm but I'm thinking a long tele would be nice.

I would like a 150ish lens for 8x10 with some extra coverage that takes 67mm filters. I don't think that exists so my budget is safe for awhile.

I have a 72, 90, 120, and 150.

If I could own just one more lens, it would a Rodenstock Apo Sironar S 240mm for portraiture.

A 24" in a shutter (and put my 210mm and 19" in shutters, too!)

You guys are all thinking way too small. 90 150 240 360 covered blah blah blah. What you guys need is not more lenses, but more formats to worry about buying lenses FOR.

5X7, 6.5X8.5, 8X10, 7X11, 11X14, 7X17, 8X20, 12X20, then you'll be able to stress over a full set for the full set :D:D

My collection includes 90, 150 and 254. The only thing I need to complete the series is a 400T.

I think I'd go for a 19.5-inch Wollensak Velostigmat Series II. I bet I've seen two dozen Pinkham and Smith's go by on ebay, and probably just as many Perscheids, Penrays, Graf Variables, and Spencer Port-Lands...

And those Noctilux's, Universal Heliars, Apo-Lanthars, and Kern Dagors are a-dime-a-dozen as far as rarity (not price!) goes...

But I've never seen one of those 19.5-inch Velostigmat Series II lenses go by.

Wait, on second thought, I'd go for the lens that would get me in bed with Julia Roberts. Does anybody know what lens that would be?

I really want that new Schneider Tele Xenar 350. Perfect for backpacking with 4 by5 and a great length for 8 by 10.

75, 120, 150, 210, 300 covered.

That leaves a 360-T plus 500mm rear... not to mention replacing my 150-N with a 150-S when my ship comes in.

After that suppose that only leaves getting an 8x10 camera so I can start all over... when my second ship comes in.

55 to 450 covered.

A longer macro lens, 240 or 300, is the one thing that might tempt my wallet; or perhaps another lens for the fabulous Mamiya 7.

Eddie - What/where is that lens ? I don't want it - but figure there's a fun story behind it.

LOL I knew I could count on Mr. Galli!
Jim, you don't have a 14x17?!?!?
I only have 3 of your list (and a 14x17) so am I starting to think bigger? :D

Once again, Jim lets us all feel our inadequacies!:D

This is a question I would answer differently at different times. However, today I'm going to say a 1700 (or longer) Artar would be just fine for a project I like to get going.

Well if you're buying, one of those new Cooke 3 in 1s....

A 24/1.4 Summilux would make a nice retirement investment...

I'm thinking...something in the 420mm-450mm range. I have 180/300 that will work on the 5x7 and 105/125/210 that will work on the 4x5. I'd like something even a little longer for 5x7 *I think*, but I have yet to try out the 300mm yet to see what I think. It's huge and I have to mess with the current board or make a new one. :D
