What is the real difference between Ilfords FP4 and it's "Delta" B&W film? Is there any real difference in picture or scanning quality? Ilford really brags about the Delta film. If anybody has tried both let me know.Thanks

In a nutshell :

FP4 = visible grain

Delta 100 = barely perceptible grain

How about developers,what devo and devo times do you use?

I use Ilford DD-X, prescribed times unless I'm doing Ną development

The Delta films are "tabular-grained" films:

Properly used, they have slightly smaller grain. Personally, I prefer the conventional films, which seem to have a slightly "different" tonal scale.

I've used both and I like the Delta line a lot. The problem I ran into is that DD-X, which Ilford strongly recommends for the Delta films, disappeared locally, and, being a liquid, is expensive to purchase by mail. I was very unsure about using another developer with Delta. If others have used something other than DD-X, perhaps they could relate their experience.
