Hi All

I am planing a trip out to Little Finland, Nevada in the spring. I have read conflicting reports about the difficulty of the off-road portions of the trip. Has anyone been out there? Will I be OK driving a Toyota Pre-Runner with all-terrain tires?
Thanks

The problem with some of these desert routes is that a single hard winter like the one this season can quickly and significantly change backroad conditions due to flash flooding. You might want to contact some WD club in the Vegas area to get an update, or perhaps the BLM in the Clark Co or Lake Mead area.

Robert Hitchaman's ( www.photographamerica.com ) latest newsletter covers that area in detail. He states:

"For your first trip to Little Finland,
I recommend that you bring a friend or two
along with a second high-clearance vehicle.
Four-wheel-drive, all-terrain tires, full gas
tanks, and radios for communication between
vehicles are also recommended. If one vehicle
gets stuck or breaks down, you’ll be able to
get back to town. Pack a towrope and a lunch.
This is an all-day exploration with a lot of
photography and three hours of round trip
driving."

I've not been there but based on Roberts newsletter it is a place I would like to visit. If you do go, please let us know how you liked it and also, post some photos.
