Hi,

I am looking for a Eugyscope for 5x7 and find one on ebay, but I don't know about it. Measure, focal length,... Please tell me some thing about it. Its link follow:

IMO this is a Euryskop size 2 (you can see the number at the top). Series II, I think. The measured focus of 8.5" matches well with the reported effective focal length of 9.75" (if the 8.5" is a back focus measure!). More in VM. Will cover 5x7" with ease.

Thank you so much, Steven. I love Voigtlander but when I buy it now, the seller said it was sold? ebay has problem, sometimes.

You can see the various models of the Euryscope lenses in this 1890 Catalogue here:

It is still listed as BIN but you have to go through a "Pre-approval Required" procedure. He/she has a comprehensive exclusion list of countries which seems a bit extreme.

Hi Folks

I believe it's a #2 series( IV) f6 Euryscope Not series II which is f4.

I have & use a series IV #5 serial #34.720

The #2 for sale looks like my #5's little bro.

Fantastic RR. One thing that made the Euryscope heads above the rest was their use of Jena glass. They may have been one of the first to use this new glass . That was Voigtlanders stand anyways. I believe this is accurate info.

Peace
Louis

Back focus would match for series IV no.2 too. Was series IV made without the Euroscope engraving - this is a very early one?

I search so much but I can not find many photos which were taken from these lenses. Maybe, everybody just made photos and hung on the wall for themselves. I love Voigtlander.

Cheer,

Absolutely right. The one in the auction was a Serie IV No. 2. About a 9 inch focal length iirc.
