Is it possible to cam a 72mm SA XL for a Linhof MT, or is 75mm (Grandagon-N f/4. 5 of course) the widest one can cam? Is there really any significant difference (ignoring price, size, and weight)between these two lenses?

Hi, I think ist's impossible because Linhof stopped making cams before the 72 SA was available. For the differences consult the data-sheets from schneideroptics.com. You should consider what you need, which lens will fit your vision. If you want a cam for the rangefinder 75mm is wide enough. And don't forget to get the close-up lens for the viewfinder to make the step from 90 to 75 mm.

whether it's possible or not, I don't think Linhof has stopped making cams...?

If you are in the US cams are cut and supplied by Marflex. 973 808 9626. Just ask them for availability. Camming also requires an infinity scale for the focal length as well as the infinity stops. So you reaqllp want to know if both the cam and the scale are available.

The optical viewfinders since the early 70's (zooming action is performed by rotation of ring on back side of viewfinder) adjusts down to 75mm without an additional mask. Check before purchasing this accessory.
