So can any locals direct me to the perfect high overlook, with a classic seen-a-gazillion-times-before view of the vast Los Angeles landscape at night? In a safe parking lot where I won't get mugged and the beautiful girl will be safe from Mountain Loins and mudslides?

Thanks!

Lions, not Loins. Lindsey Vonn has mountain loins. Sorry.

I'm not a LA local but for the Iconic veiws, you might scout locations off Mulholland Drive (not being a local, I couldn't tell you exactly where on Mullholland Drive---a call to Freestyle would probably get you a more precise answer) or from Griffith Observatory.

It's Griffith Park. Enter from the south entrance. Once you get to the park it's one of the first roads leading to the right. The problem is it's normally gated so you'll have to walk a ways. Large flat, paved area which I've filmed at a few times. Vista Del Valle Drive. Probably no one around too, which is quite rare for any spot in this hell hole. Also Elysian park also has a good spot overlooking dodger stadium.

My vote is on Elysian Park. There are some pretty colorful characters there too. The hills above the NBC studio in Burbank are good too, don't know about the access though, was working for NBC when there. Oh, and the hills in Chatsworth are good too and you might be able to shoot some porn while in the valley too, I hear that happens there.

Shhh... please don't give away the secrets of The Valley. Next thing you know you'll blabber about Brent's Deli or Dr. Hoggly Woggly's Tyler Texas BBQ!

Angeles Crest Hwy (Hwy 2) in the San Gabriel Mtns, west of Red Box. There's a spot along the roadside that offers a huge view of the Basin. Years back, there used to be a guy (shorts, no shirt) who would set up his big drumkit there and wail on the sucker while listening to music on headphones. I should have photo'd him while I had the chance.

Lions, not Loins.

Hey, I'd be concerned if my beautiful daughter went up to the Hollywood Hills with some guy with mountain loins...

also check out Kenneth Hahn State Recreational Area, on a clear day (after the rain) you can get the SM mountain in the background too.

Oh, I expect Frank had loins on the brain when he wrote that....

Thanks Guys, but this is all I got from LA. I swear, next time I'll go outdoors.
