I bought a glass Tiffen P XL GND awhile back that I liked for it's scratch-resistance
and because it was relatively cheap at the time at $100, on sale.
(These are filters that fit Cokin P holders, which are lightweight filled nylon that can be modded for ultrawides. These and the Cokin anodized aluminum thread adapters can be found dirt cheap nowadays.)
The filter came in a padded nylon pouch that is about worthless for protection beyond keeping it clean. Consequently, I broke it in a spill while snowshoeing in November. The filters themselves are now back to $158. Being such a cheapskate, and before I buy another, I'm wondering if anybody has found the perfect lightweight castoff container for protecting one or several of these? The eXtra Long P-filter equivalent of an Altoids tin is what I'm hoping for here. AOL stopped sending out the CDs for their dial-up service awhile back but I'm thinking of something like the tin these came in (anyone got one of these laying about to measure?)
