Scanning some Velvia in my X5 and having to do a lot of color corrections for each image. Wondering if anyone has any good base color corrections for this film / scanner combo? I'm trying to get a good profile in the Flextight software but what's been good for one image can be way off for another. I have a lot of reading and experimenting to do, and will get it going eventually, but, need to get on with it for a project quickly and hoped someone here might have some info.

Thanks in advance!

Buy an IT 8.7 target and create a custom profile for your scanner - it's really very simple and will streamline your workflow. I use some I bought from Wolf Faust a while ago - there may be a lot of other choices now, but I haven't needed to investigate them... http://www.targets.coloraid.de/

Silverfast sells an IT8 target on Fuji Provira F, $95 for the 4x5 one.

FWIW, I'd suggest getting a matching target (same film) if you primarily shoot one particular film. I have an Astia and a Velvia profile created from the correct respective targets and they give quite different results...

I got the Velvia target from Wolf Faust, and he is very knowledgable and helpful, and the prices are very good.
