Can anybody provide me with the critical dimensions of 7x11 film holders? I know not all brands are equal, so please identify the brand also.

Need to know:
1. Length--from the end of holder at the flap end to the beginning of the rib-lock
2. Width of holder
3. Thickness or width of rib-lock
4. Width of loading end flap

Thanks!

How critical do you want these, Michael? I can measure my Chamonix with a ruker to give you an idea...huh...what...oh...or if you want a better idea, I can use a ruler!:D

A ruler is fine...as long as it is not a yardstick...

OK as best as I can with my ruler, for the Chamonix 7x11 holder:

1.) 11 3/4"
2.) 8 9/32"
3.) 5/64"
4.) 25/32"

From my Eastman Portrait Film Holder No. 1:

Length = 11 3/4"
Width = 8 11/16" (actually a shade less, but not 1/32" less)
Width of rib lock = 7/64" (height about 1/32"
Width of flap = 25/32"
Thickness = 9/16" (extra credit)

I'm not able to make an accurate T-dimension measurement (yet), though it looks very close to 1/4".

Stupid question perhaps but why 7x11 format? Then on the other hand 'How'?

Well, it's the Golden Ratio, which many of us find pleasing. How? Adapter backs, old 7x11 cameras, new 7x11 cameras. Film is available yearly from Ilford....

Just got an Eastman holder from Jim Galli. I get the same L, W, and thickness. 1/8 for the rib lock. 27/32 for the flap.

Funny, I make the T-dimension to be 13/64 in. (0.203)). Most of the Canham and S&S holders seem to be 0.35 inches ...or close (except Canham's 4x10, which is 0.25in). So, as Steve said, very close to 1/4in (like the Canham 4x10 holder).
