I was in the MOMA today on my lunch hour and I stood looking at this one photo by James Anderson for quite a long time...

Taken in 1855. It is very sharp and in perfect condition. There is a little softness in the lower corners, but nothing that I haven't seen in many more modern photos.
Amazing reality check on how much (little?) progress we've actually made for all our technological wizardry.
