I've been looking for flashlight holder that will allow me to aim a small LED (1" - CR123 battery diameter most likely) and attach to a standard 5/8" photo/video light stand.

So far the options are rigging rather large and expensive Manfrotto or Matthews grip gear or rubberbands and duct tape....

What I would like to find is a reasonably priced gadget with clamps on opposite ends (one for the stand, one for the flashlight) and maybe a ball head or two swivels, with adjustable locks.

I'd like to mount and aim several small LED flashlights running up and down a lightstand.

Perhaps I should design one and find a plastics manufacturer? But maybe one already exists? Thanks!

PS: Don't get into flashlights, those guys are so nerdy they make us look cool.

get one of those helping hands doodahs (like in auction site No. 130287668571 no recommendations) they have ball joints and screw fittings and with a bit of manipulation and some slight home engineering you should be able to fabricate something.

You may also use the magnifier as an F2 110mm lens that (sort of) covers 5 x 4 see here:http://www.largeformatphotography.info/forum/showthread.php?t=35097&page=5

Hope this helps

How about some of these ? -

Those are what I would start with and machine my own mounts for the flashlights.
Otherwise there's always those ubiquitous clamp lights you can buy at Home Depot
etc, they have ball joints ( really rough, not good for fine positioning ) if inexpensive is
the way you want to go.

You can put together a custom solution here (http://www.ram-mount.com/).

Filmtools (http://www.filmtools.com/3-8-weenie-grip-hardware.html) might have something in the grip dept.
