Hi All,

I've been looking at all threads on using these to develop sheet film. I'm going to be using it for 4X5, 5X7, and 8X10. I have two questions that might be obvious but they're still confusing me:

-If I get an 11X14 drum I can do 2 8X10's in it right? Does that mean I can do 3 or 4 5X7's or 6 4X5's?

-Do I need the drum with or without the ridges in it?

Take care,

Jim

with, the film has to hook a ridge to conform to the sides of the drum. Without it it will spring out away from the side of the tube trying to straighten out.

Do I want a print drum or film drum?

Hello! You will need the print drums. An 8x10 drum can do one 8x10 or four 4x5. You will need the rubber spacer to separate each row of two 4x5 (or make one - there is an article on the site that discusses how). An 11x14 drum can do two 8x10 or one 11x14. As noted previously, the spacing of the retaining ridges is what determines what size film the print drums can hold. Best regards.
