I just picked up a jobo cpe2 tonight (for $50 good deal?) and the guy was nice and included two tanks (jobo 2840 and 1520). The reels included appear to be only for 35mm and 120. Do I need to buy another reel to do 4x5? Or is there some jury rigged solution?

You will need a 4x5 reel, 2509N

Indeed, you'll need a 2509N reel (or the older 2509, though I wouldn't recommend that) for 4x5" film.
However, if I'm not mistaken, 4x5" reels don't fit a 1500-series tank. Those reels are larger in diameter and need a "fatter" tank, namely one of the 2500 series.
2840 is a paper drum.

The drums are2521/2523 to hold one set of 6 sheets of 4 x 5 sheets film in the 2509n reel. When you use the folder ensure you have the black separator end flaps as well. These will stop the film from moving and ensue the chemistry reaches the inner film sheets. The film loader 2508 with guides 2512 to aid the loading of the spiral.
Hope this helps

1520 + bottom part of 2840(2521). Switch cup in 2840 lid for funnel in 1520 lid, take centerpost from 1520 add a 2509n and you are redy to dev 4X5.

Not sure if this is the same solution soren suggested, but the bottom of the 2840 is the 2820 which will hold 2 4x5 prints. It will also work for 2 4x5 negatives, so you can still process 2-at-a-time while looking for the 2509n.

Yeah Im not sure if my post is a bit cryptic or make sence at all.
The 2800 series is virtually the same as the 2500 series except for the funnel/cup and centerpost. The funnels, cups and center post are interchangeable between 1500, 2500 and 2800 series drums so the funnel and centerpost from the 1520 will fit the 2521 and -23 and the bottom part of the 2840, the 2820.
