Greetings,
I have a jobo 2500 tank with a COGGED top-you're supposed to use this tank with the rotary processors which I don't own- i need a way to cover the top and prevent spillage-jobo rep told me I needed a sparepart# 03046 which i already own and it doesn't fit-does anyone know how else I can cap this tank? i'm currently using saran wrap and rubber bands and its a mess-someone I believe mentioned a #12 rubber cap at a lab supply store but that is turning up nothing-thank you!

AFAIK there is no cap for a cogged JObo tank. You'd have to take out the cog and replace it with a regular spout - then the cap you now have will fit.

If you have the rubber cap you can remove the cog top and use the rubber cap.
With the lid off of the tank, turn the light trap/fill funnel 1/8 turn counter clock wise to remove it. After that is removed you will need to find some way to support the lid as it requires a fair amount of force to remove the cogged section. The cogged top does separate from the rest of the lid at the first step. Support the lid and push the cogged section out. Push hard, but be gentle. After the cogged section is out your rubber cap will fit. All that is left to do is reinstall the light trap.
Hope this helps.

I had/have the same problem with my jobo drums.
They have the cogs for my eventual ATL 3 (someday!) but i am planning on using a rotary base until that time.
I found a large rubber stopper at home depot for a few bucks that almost fit.
I wrapped one layer of gaffers tape (dont laugh) and it works like a charm.
I then drilled a hole in it and fit a length of plastic tubing in it, this is the hard part so be careful!.
I can now blow into the tubing end to pop the top without hurting myself.
It works really well for now. The tape allows for a bit of wiggle room to get the stopper on an off without fighting it.

Thanks to all above. Greatly helped. My solution? I used plyers and just tore off the cog. Yes, means I'll never use the jobo processors but no problem, i'm a manual guy anyhoot. Works perfect now. I have a tank that holds 2 each 4x5 reels, doing manual rotation in sink. For my test rolls I filled the tank almost full with chemistry and it worked great. BUT it uses way to much chemistry this way. You guys think I should follow jobo's directions on the tank for chemistry? 300-500ml seems too little. Again, I"m manually rotating in sink. Thank you again.

I use Xtol 1:3 and 100ml per 8x10 unit. So, either 400ml or 800ml in either a 3010 or 2551/2553 tank.
You might look for one of the Jobo tank lids with the red stopper. I have both lids-cog or red stopper. I don't have to tear off the cog or stick a cork in it.

I'm really surprised that you did that. My solution allows the cog section to be reinstalled whenever you need it, and is the correct way to disassemble the lid.
Why ask advice if you were going to destroy it on a whim?
