This is a 300mm f4 Pentax 67 Takumar SMC Medium Format lens. Pentax's service department - now Cris Camera in Az - said Pentax no longer has parts for this lens and Pentax in Golden Colorado E-mailed me the parts necessary for repair. If economically feasible I would like to have this lens repaired as the glass is mint and the len s has been a good performer in the past. I have the 400mm version which is even better but it weighs about 8 lbs and not as easy to back-pack as the 300mm which weighs half as much.

Any ideas on where to have this lens repaired? Your suggestions are welcome.

Thanks,

Thomas

You might see if Carol Miller at Flototscamerarepair.com can work on it. If not, try Frank at Camera Wiz in Harrinsonburg, Va.

If you end up shipping to Camera Wiz, cross everything that you have until you get it back.
Speaking from a bad experience with this fellow.

Have you tried bringing it to ICT Camera (http://www.ictcamera.com) in Mountain View, CA?

I don't know what the repairs will run you but I bought that lens last year for about $200 in mint condition. It IS a great focal length and performer.
