This is just an informational post. When I got my Ebony 45SU, it had the wide-angle fresnel installed. I though this would be great - I shoot a lot of wide angle images.

With no movements, it is great, but as soon as I started really shifting the front, it became very hard to see the image - I had to shift my head in the opposite direction from the lens because of the directionality of the fresnel. When I pulled it, I found that the normal Ebony fresnel is good for wide angles, and much easier to use when shifting.

I think the wide angle fresnel would be great for ultra wides where you really need help seeing and you do not have much room to shift.

Which explains why I bought a Maxwell screen :D :cool:

i found the fresnell on my new 45svu2 to be very hard to use . as i had a maxwell on my wisner i also elected to purchause a maxwell for my ebony , difference is night as to day .
