I am toying with the trying out LF once again. I have looked at the toyo AII and noted that there is also an L version of this. the L version supposedly allows linhof lens boards to be mounted.

what are the advantages/disadvantages of the L version versus the conventional version.

thanks in advance for your comments.

You can buy an adapter board to a Toyo AII so it can also use Linhof boards.

The main difference is the smaller Linhof boards instead of the larger Toyo
Field boards.

The AII L is a relatively new camera, so a used AII L is probably in better shape.

An advantage of the AII is its big lensboards. I have mounted some quite large lenses into them. The AII L eliminates that advantage.

...and the ability to flip off-centered boards for more rise/fall.

Try and find an AI in good shape and save money.
