Hi,

How tight should 405 be on Toyo's back?
In my D45M it's hard to put on the place, and the dark slide is bent against toyo's back (see picture).
As the dark slide is plastic, it works but I doubt that it's designed to used like that.

If the putting the polaroid 405 magazine is hard, the taking it out is much harder as the GG's lifting arm is not long enough so I have to lift GG with fingers while pulling the 405 off..

The picture is from the top of the camera, darkslide is on the left.

Do I have inconpatible back on my Toyo or is the 405 that I have just thicker than they normally are?

Do you have an international Back?
If you take the entire back assembly off, by loosening those sliders,
can you replace it with the 405?

I think that back is not international, If I loosen sliders, I can mount only a back, bellows etc...

Here's some photos of the back:

sorry, don't know about that-
but it looks like the dark slide is at the wrong end...

The alternative might be to find a back that does work,
but that's probably going to be connected to a different camera-

I'm not sure what the solution is-
but I'm jealous of your 405-
trying to find one now myself-

My 405 works fine with my wooden field camera - thus I really wonder why it's so hard to fit in to Toyo.
Perhaps I need international or graflex back.

I don't have a 405, but it sure look like it is in backwards. Shouldn't the darkslide be at the opposite end?

It doesn't fit any other way.
As you can see, it's designed to attach that way:

It works, but the darkslide is hard to use.

that looks like it is designed for the international/graflok back not the standard back.

One way to solve the problem, file down the height of the wall that bends and blocks your dark slide, the wall on camera back is for stop the holder from falling, so actually it is OK to lower it's height, wouldn't lose any function, but your 405 is free of operation.

That's is really good idea. Thank you very much!
