Say, I want to take my own pic but there's no one around to press the cable release, is it possible, as in most cameras, to "time" the shot? I have a Sinar F2. Thanks.

Long releases, that operate on air pressure are sold.

search ebay and on this forum. b&h sells a mechanical timer for about $15 but the two I've bought broke quickly.

You might also keep an eye out on eBay for something like this. It threads into the release socket and you twist the lever to wind it. It runs about 12-15 secs.

There is also a timer made by Kodak that fits on the end of a cable release. I have one made around 1915 and it still works fine. It is adjustable for delay time. Probably some of these on ebay. They only fit on older cable releases with small button.

Autoknips.

Produced in large numbers in lots of different versions - threaded to screw into the cable release socket, or fitting over the top of the cable release plunger. Cost very little on ebay - if you can't find one there, try ebay.de.
