I am thinking of offering on this arca 10x8, without the lens, please see recent discussion forum on how I ended up going for the arca

I need a robust light model for rough field work, and a decent vertical rise.
It would be useful to compare this to the new arca F
does anyone know what model this is, age, what the weight is, the vertical rise, is this a reasonably heavy duty model or delicate?

there are a few more photos on the earlier post at the end of p3

(I am aware that the 4x5 bits are not all there a shutter and 300m lens, it is the 8x10 camera itself I need to find out about)

many thanks, dan

This looks to me to be the same model that I recently bought here--a pre-F version.

If that is the case (and it might not be--I'm no Arca expert) then the asking price seems outrageously high. The advert on the one I bought here was around $1000 for the 8x10 plus 4x5 back , extra bag bellows, and other accessories. Excellent condition.

I saw this same camera you are looking at on the auction site--it has been there for months.

Put a wtb on this board for more realistic prices...

Dan, what you need is a modern geared F-metric Arca. This is an old 30+ yrs model.
