Hello,

I just tried to turn on the scanner - exactly as in the instruction leaflet. It takes some 20 - 30 seconds until the all 3 lights are on (not blinking). However - as soon as I stop pushing on the start button all 3 lights go off as well as the scanner.

As long as I keep the Start button pushed - the scanner will be recognized. But onec I take off my finger ... it's gone ...

Are you just pressing and releasing the button? If you are holding for 30 seconds, that might be the problem. If pressing and releasing does not work, then it sounds like you have a defective scanner.

Yes - I am pressing and holding for 30 seconds. As soon as I release the button (does not matter whether it is after 0.1, 1 or 30 seconds)

hmm ...

Problem solved.

I have just got a reply directly from Microtek - it was a problem with the knob in the outer housing not switching properly the underlying switch. I had to take take down the top lid, then the to glass with its frame and then the whole top housing. It turned out that the outer knob was positioned too close to the inner switch to work properly. I filled the inner switch a bit and now it's fine. So it was jut a mechanical imperfection.
