I am new to this forum. I have just received a number of lenses from an estate. One is the TAYLOR-HOBSON COOKE 6 1/2inch f/2/5 lense. Can anyone please advise me how old this lense might be? Does it fit only a specific camera? The lense film seems to have a scratch on it; can that be repaired? Does a lense this old have value? I am not a photographer. Thank you so much for any assistance this group can give. K

since jeeves is on a permanent vacation
mr google can be your friend ..

a quick and dirty google search leads one to the cooke optics website
http://www.cookeoptics.com/cooke.nsf/history/1920s.html

at the bottom of the page it says your lens was for a 3 1/2 x 4 1/4
and was the "fastest lens ever supplied by graflex" ..

sometimes scratches can be filled with india ink,
sometimes a big sun shade helps ...

good luck!
