I'm amazed, absolutely astounded, to find out that photo manipulation preceded digital! Who would have thought?

Quite upsetting indeed! Why, this is almost as bad as when I watched the original "Star Wars" trilogy, then years later found out it never really happened. That's right, some Hollywood studio just made the whole thing up.

You can't trust anybody anymore... :mad:

I always wondered how those 19th century photographers sometimes got great skies while also getting good exposures of the foreground. After reading the Dartmouth tampering article I'm beginning to suspect they might have moved the skies from one photograph into the foreground of another photograph.
