CAP 40 processor- washing l-o-n-g prints

Hello all Does anyone have any experience in washing large (16"x48" and 12"x36") ilfochrom e panoramic prints after being processed from a CAP40? My concern is by the time the end of the print emegers form the processor the fixer will be well and trul y dry, and may either be damaging to the print quality or too hard to remove whe n washing. Perhaps someone out there has an idea or experince in washing the pri nt progressively as it emegres from a processor such as this????? ie something l ike a homemade wash unit like the ICP/IWD

I don't see the problem. Just let the paper spill into the sink, or a bowl of water. If it doesn't roll itself up naturally as it comes out of the processor, then just give it a curl in the right direction. Feed speed is about what? 6 inches a minute? A 6 minute break between fixer and wash won't do any harm in any case.

The problem with glossy Ilfochrome is that the edge of the polyester sheet can d amage the gelatin surface when it's rolled wet. I would use a section of the plastic profiles that are use d to hang posters, inserting the edge of the sheet in it when it comes out of the CAP. But you might have to do t hat in the dark depending on the length of your sheet, which seems uneasy. The paper based Ilfochrome should not be that delicate.
