beseler 4x5 dichro dg fan question

How is the blower used? I'm setting up a cb7 enlarger (pictured) for the first time and it comes with an external box vacuum which pulls air through the head, (which apparently has two lamps).

Do you leave the blower on all the time while printing?

Do you turn it on only when the lamp is used?

I have tried plugging it into the aux outlets on the enlarger base, and on the moving part of the enlarger and those seem to keep the fan on all the time when the enlarger power switch is activated. I've figured out the other stuff I need to know about the enlarger; just never used one big enough to utilize a cooling system.

I've always left it on to keep cooling after the exposure/focus. Plus if you exposures are short, the fan might not even spool up completely before it's switched off again.

Hang the box on the wall to isolate the vibes from the head. I ran my timer off the outlet on the box then the lamp off the timer. Kill the box and it all kills, safelight included.

Thanks for the insight. I may make room on the shelf for the box and run the enlarger through it's power jack.
