Just got my first 4x5 camera and bought an Ilex-Calumet 90mm f/8 lens in a Seikosha-S shutter for it. Hoping I didn't misread the data sheets, it should have ample covering power.

But the shutter doesn't have a cable release socket, or a viewing lever, or a T setting. Did I make a mistake? Do people actually use these shutters for LF?

yes, but with difficulty. You have to set the shutter on B and hold it open while you focus. The seikosha is a press type shutter not designed for use on a view camera.

Linhof has a little adapter for their Techinka plates that takes a cable release.
Place that at the propper distance of your shutter release.
It would improve the workability with this shutter.
