I am looking to develop my first batch of film and I'm looking for a good starting point for New TMY in Tmax-RS. A number of people have posted times for old TMY in Tmax-RS, but fewer have for the new stuff. Are times for these two films similar, or are they different animals entirely?

for example, the Sexton article on Tmax (old) says:

TMY EI 320 in Tmax-RS 1:9 for 10min 30sec @75deg

Is this a good place to start? Or is it way off for the new film. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

check the Kodak professional site for the times they give for the old and new and then multiply your old time by the ratio of the times that Kodak gives.

For trays & tanks Kodak site is good place to start. For rotary 1:9 (mix small bottle in the big and then dilute with water) 7-8min is good start, 10+mins will give way too much contrast.

New TMAX is much better for scanning, but visually has a bit of milky look. Personally I do not care too much about Tmax-RS (did some tests only), I like and use HC110.
