Any body heard of this lens?

I call this my sleeper lens, it will almost cover 8 x 10. It's only 2 1/2"long and 1 1/2 wide it has a focal length about 9 1/2 "

There's no threads on the back of it, maybe some kind of projector lens?26157

It looks like a Darlot Rapide Hemispherique. A rapid rectilinear lens probably made in the 1870's to 1880's. Perhaps the back section is missing. In any case, they are convertible so you should get excellent results except in the outside edges of the lens. It is probably f8 which explains its small size. It may be missing a focusing collar.

Yes, and the AD logo stands for Aldolfo (spelling?) Darlot.
