Infos on Linhof Kardan GT?

Hi everybody,

is anybody here using the above mentioned Linhof Kardan GT?
Could you provide some infos (weight/portability, usefulness, price)?
Any drawbacks?
I am looking for some info but haven´t found any on this forum...

I could buy one that comes with shade and a Linhof Sironar-N 240/5.6.
What would the average price for that set be?
Everything is in unused condition.

BTW: I am not trying to sell one, I am looking to buy one.

Any thoughts much appreciated.

The Kardan GT is still in production, but only the 4x5" as you can see here (http://www.linhof.de/kardan.html). So you can easily compare the prices of a new camera with the offer you've got.

The one I have been offered seems to be an older model as it says "West Germany" on the front standard.
Do the older ones differ much from the recent ones?

As I know the type plate is the only difference.

Here some more information: the 4x5" camera weights 4,4 kg, the telescopic bench goes from 379mm up to 585mm. With another telescopic bench, a second bellows and an intermediate standard up to 800mm are possible.

The bellows can exchanged with a bag-bellows, so together with a recessed lens-board also short lenses, 47mm, can be used.
