Hi all

Just wanted to say hello as I've been lurking in these parts for the past year or so. My background is in editorial and still-life photography and I took the plunge with lf about 2 years ago. It's been a joy...no clients, no hassle, just me, the wind, the rain and only the bearest touch of frostbite. It doesn't pay the mortgage (yet) but
I'm hoping to break into print sales when the time is right.

cheers

You won't find a better or more helpful forum than this. Welcome. I've knocked around in The Smoke in me time and I really wish that Silverprint had a branch in The Midlands. Enjoy the freedom of LF, if you like it it's OK, others opinions are not important.
Best wishes,
Pete

Hi Rupert

Don't forget the UKLFPG forums www.lf-photo.org.uk/forum.

We are running a free workshop in Maldon Essex, 24th-26th April, if you are interested in joining us.

Welcome Rupert. There's a regular and active UK contingent here but it's particulary good to get a truly international perspective. :) Pound for pound there are far more active LF photographers in the US than in the UK if the contributors to this forum are anything to go by - and I bet they are! As you've been a lurker (your admission) you'll see that being a contributer pays dividends. I've certainly learned a lot in the last 18 months since I signed up.

Rupert,
I just took a look at your website - you have the eye. Nice work. Simple but effective web design too.
Not wishing to make comparisons in anything other than a passing manner, but your work immediately reminded me of that of Harry Cory Wright. Certainly not the same but of a family ...
